Final Assessment after Asbestos Removal

Sidebar Image

After asbestos removal, it is essential to ensure that a space is once again safe and free of asbestos fibers. Eurofins conducts independent final assessments in accordance with the legal standard NEN 2990, allowing you to confidently demonstrate that the area has been properly remediated and can be safely used again.

Eurofins Asbestos Inspections

Eurofins Asbestos Inspections, consisting of Eurofins Sanitas Inspections and Eurofins ACMAA Inspections, operates mobile asbestos laboratories that, due to their flexibility and mobility, can always be present within the agreed timeframe at various remediation sites across the Netherlands. The necessary equipment to analyze fiber concentrations in air samples is immediately available in the mobile laboratory. If more detailed analysis is required, the samples are promptly sent to the nearest laboratory within the Eurofins Environment Testing network.

What does a final assessment involve?

A final assessment is mandatory for most asbestos remediation projects and consists of:

  • Visual inspection Checking for remaining asbestos residues or contamination.

  • Air measurement (air samples) Determining whether the concentration of asbestos fibers in the air meets legal threshold values.

  • Analysis in accredited laboratory Eurofins performs all analyses in ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratories.

  • Reporting and clearance If the results are positive, you will receive a formal clearance statement confirming that the work area is safe to access again.
